Rönk és raklapok feldolgozása

Magyarország területeinek közel 20%-át erdők borítják. Az itt megtalálható fák miután kivágásra kerülnek, felhasználásuk igencsak széleskörű, mert nem csupán tüzelésre alkalmasak, hanem bútorokat, fogpiszkálókat készítenek belőlük és alapanyagként nem hiányozhatnak a különböző építkezésekről sem. Ahhoz, hogy a fából hasznos alapanyag legyen, szükség van a rönkök és raklapok feldolgozásához, faipari gépekre. Az elsődleges fafeldolgozó ipar az a terület, ami gondoskodik arról, hogy a fából megfelelő alapanyag váljon, például deszka, lemez, bútorlap, amiket később a másodlagos faipar területére lehet továbbítani: asztalosüzemeknek, bútorgyártóknak, egyéb fafeldolgozó telepeknek. Ezeket az alapanyagokat másnéven fűrészárunak hívják, amit csakis jó minőségű rönkből állítanak elő, fűrészeléssel. A kész alapanyagot méreteivel összhangban nevezik el: deszka, palló, léc, gerenda, zárléc. A kialakítást, méreteket és minőségi osztályba sorolását szigorú szabvány írja elő, amihez alkalmazkodni kell a gyártás során.

Szalag- és körfűrészek

A fűrészáru legyártása először a rönk tengelyirányú fűrészelésével kezdődik keretfűrészgépen, rönkhasító szalagfűrészgépen vagy rönkhasító körfűrészgépen. Ezek a berendezések három vágásmód szerint dolgozhatnak: élesvágással, prizmázással és forgatóvágással. A felsoroltak közül a legelterjedtebb az élesvágás, mert szinte mindegyik fafajtánál alkalmazható́ gyors és költséghatékony megoldást kínál a vágáshoz.
